বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন সরকারি চাকরির ক্ষেত্রে ৫৫ শতাংশের বেশি কোটা রয়েছে যার মধ্যে মুক্তিযোদ্ধা কোটা ৩০ শতাংশ, জেলাভিত্তিক কোটা ১০ শতাংশ, নারীদের জন্য ১০ শতাংশ এবং ক্ষুদ্র নৃগোষ্ঠীর জন্য ৫ শতাংশ। তবে নিয়ম অনুসারে এসব কোটায় যোগ্য প্রার্থী না পাওয়া গেলে ১ শতাংশ প্রতিবন্ধীদের জন্য বরাদ্দ রয়েছে।
